'Now is a great time to buy property'

Now "is a great time to buy property", according to the founder of the property investors network (PIN).Simon Zutshi believes that investors can get a "fantastic price" for a desirable property at present, but urged buyers to think long-term.
"Property is a long-term investment," he explained. "It's not a get rich scheme.
"You need to buy now at a great price but be prepared to hold it for a while."
The PIN founder predicted that amateur investors would probably shy away from the market at present, allowing confident buyers that "can afford the holding costs" to thrive.
Landlords buying rental investments are reminded that new legislation is due to come into effect this October similar to the Home Information Pack system for selling homes.
All properties newly marketed for rent after the law takes effect will be required to provide energy performance information based on the efficiency of the house.
Installing insulation and measures such as double glazing that help to improve fuel efficiency will help improve this rating and make rental accommodation more desirable.
