As the days get noticeably longer, many of us will start thinking about spring cleaning our homes and revitalising them ready for the warmer days ahead. For some this may be simply repainting doors, cleaning windows and vacuuming behind the sofa, but for others more exciting projects may be on the horizon to help give the home a real facelift.
Join us and friends for an educational day at Denman college on Monday 9th April where you will enjoy entertaining talks, informative tips and fun activities, all designed to provide advice and inspiration when it comes to refreshing and revitalising your home.
Sessions will include what to look for when buying a conservatory, the importance of creating a space or ‘sanctuary’ where you can relax, and tips to improve your home security before the upcoming holiday season.
Popular TV gardener David Domoney from ITV’s Love your Garden, will share his spring gardening tips, helping you make the most of your garden – whether you’re sitting outside or enjoying the view from the window. His ‘behind the scenes’ talks and interactive planting sessions at previous Denman days have been a big hit so he’s guaranteed to entertain.
TV psychologist Emma Kenny, who is a regular guest on ITV’s This Morning, will speak about the benefits of natural light and the importance of having good home security, both of which can provide a real boost for your sense of wellbeing. She will also share her thoughts and experiences about her latest home security upgrade – a keyless front door!
The feedback from WI members who attended the last Denman educational day with Everest was overwhelmingly positive, with comments describing it as a “very well run event, well balanced with good presenters and a convivial atmosphere” and “one of the best events I have attended at Denman – every presentation was lively and informative.”
WI members who attend the event may be among the first to enjoy the new Everest Garden Room, which has been gifted to the college to celebrate its 70th anniversary.
