Roofline
The products are all beautifully made
Mr Edwards' roof line
Mr Edwards’ house was built in 1973. Last year he decided that the house was starting to look a bit tired and could do with some TLC.
To begin with he looked into new roofline products. These included fascias, roofline guttering, drain pipe, soffits and bargeboards [please see accompanying image]. He then decided to get new Georgian windows installed at the front of the house as well.
Commenting on the research process behind his choice of products, Mr Edwards said:
“I did a lot of research and am also a Subscriber to Which? magazine. All reports said that Everest came out top in terms of the combination of products and customer service. Admittedly a couple of reports suggested that local companies are sometimes better on service but I had no evidence of this where I live.”
So, Mr Edwards contacted Everest for a quote for the roofline products and new windows. He comments:
“When I first received a quote I thought it was a bit expensive so I acted on the advice of the reports I’d read and went to some local firms. However, the quality of their products was vastly inferior to Everest’s and I realised at that point that it was definitely worth paying the extra for the superior quality I would be getting with Everest.”
In September 2006 Mr Edwards had the roofline products and windows installed. Commenting on the installations, he said:
“The workers on both jobs were excellent. They often didn’t stop for a break and sometimes worked until 8pm. What most impressed me was that they used their initiative to solve problems. This allowed them to continue working through any problems that arose, rather than stopping and waiting for someone else to sort it out. I also felt very comfortable leaving them with the house while I went out, which you can’t say for all workmen.”
Indeed, Mr Edwards was so impressed with the work of the team that installed the windows in the front of his house that he asked for them to be sent back to install some more windows at the back of the house. These have now been fitted and, according to Mr Edwards, the work that has been carried out has “transformed the house”. He says:
“The products are all beautifully made. I could have gone for cheaper versions of the windows in particular, but I’m now delighted with the more expensive ones which are of much higher quality. And compared to the neighbours’ windows, which are also new, they look fantastic! I was surprised at how much difference it makes paying more to get better quality products.”
