The key to creating a flat roof that will stand the test of time is using the right materials. It’s a well-known fact that conventional flat roofs will leak over time, normally when the rubber or felt used to build them breaks down from sun damage or water pooling. With our materials, however, things are a little different.
When we install a new Glass-Reinforced Plastic (GRP) flat roof, we carefully remove your old roof, dispose of it in the correct way and then we replace the roof surface using only the highest quality 18mm weatherproof structurally engineered decking boards. If your new roof is over a habitable room, we add extra insulation to prevent heat loss and make it more energy efficient. We then build up the construction of the GRP roof with layers of polyester resin and glass fibre matting, to create a durable, 100% waterproof flat roof that will last a lifetime.
The glass fibre matting we use is way above the industry standard for even greater strength and durability, standing at 600gsm rather than the normal 450gsm. As an aside, we insisted on putting our GRP flat roofs through the most rigorous of tests, which they passed with flying colours to gain full approval by the BBA.
