Q.

How soon can you schedule me in?

We will always do our best to schedule our handymen at the most convenient time to you. Providing that a suitable time can be arranged with the customer, we’ll always try to get someone out within 7 days. Our handyman service is primarily geared towards cosmetic and non-essential tasks, so if you have an emergency that requires immediate attention you may need to contact your insurance company. However we’re happy to advise on this when you contact us.

Q.

Will I have to wait in all day for your technician to arrive?

We’ll agree on a pre-arranged time for our technician to arrive at your property during the booking process. Our handyman will make every effort to be there at the arranged time. There can be occasions when our staff might be unavoidably delayed, for example by bad traffic or unforeseen circumstances, but in this eventuality our technician will contact you en route to advise a new estimated time of arrival.

Q.

Does the price you have given me include materials?

Our handymen will usually carry their own tools and sundry items such as screws and nails, but in general our customers are asked to provide their own materials. These include paints, wallpapers, and plaster.
If you’re unsure of the materials our handymen might require to complete their job, please feel free to ask one of our advisors before the handyman arrives, we’ll be happy to offer you some guidance.

Q.

Can your handymen assemble furniture?

Yes, our handymen are happy to assemble furniture for you. The Everest handyman service aims to provide easy, hassle free service and expertise to help you to get those jobs done that you don’t have the time or confidence to do yourself. So if for instance you have a piece of flat-pack furniture stored at home, we’ll happily send someone round to put it together for you.
We’re also happy to collect items that you’ve ordered from local suppliers - providing that they can easily fit into one of our vehicles. If you need to purchase additional materials for the job, such as paints, wallpaper or specialist tools we can pick these up for you too, or accompany you to the appropriate store to help you to carry them. However, the time taken for this will come out of the hours you have paid for. Give us a call and we discuss the best way for your to make the most of your Handyman.

Q.

Do your technicians come with all the necessary tools?

Our technicians carry a comprehensive set of tools for the tasks you have outlined to us. Should you have any additional tasks not previously mentioned he may not be fully equipped to carry out these additional items. To ensure our technicians turn up with all the equipment they need, try to be as specific as possible about the jobs you need us to do when you make your booking. Our customer service team are happy to offer advice in this regard, so don’t worry if DIY isn’t your area of expertise!

Q.

Do you provide free estimates?

If you’re not sure exactly what kind of work you need to get done, we’ll be happy to talk through this with you during your booking call. If the task requires more complex assessment we’re happy to send a qualified technician to your home, although this will incur a fee for the time. This can be arranged and agreed with the customer on an individual basis, and there’s no obligation to order a handyman after the assessment has been carried out.

Q.

Are you insured?

Yes, we carry £10 million pounds of public liability insurance. This is insurance that covers any damage caused by the insured to the customer or third party’s property. For example, in the unlikely event of one of our handymen accidentally damaging a piece of your furniture, we’d be able to cover repair or replacement costs. It also covers any injuries sustained as a result of oversights by our handymen.

However, all of our handymen are highly trained and very careful, so the chances of any of these issues arising are thankfully minimal!

Q.

Do you have flexibility on scheduled time for works?

You can choose book your handyman for either, an hour, half a day (4 hours) or a full day (8 hours), depending on the work that needs to be done. Our handymen are happy to take on multiple tasks in one visitation.

Working hours for our handymen are between 7am - 8pm Monday to Friday, and 8am - 6pm on Saturdays.

Q.

Do you have any Gas Safe registered engineers?

Yes we employ Gas Safe engineers as standard for relevant tasks. We also work with an affiliated company who specialise in Gas installation and repair, to ensure that you get the very highest quality of service and safety.

Q.

Do you have any NICEIC accredited electricians?

Yes, we use NICEIC accredited electricians as standard for relevant electrical jobs. We also work with an affiliated company who specialise in electrical installation and are fully accredited, to ensure the highest standards of service and safety. Some minor electrical works do not require an accredited electrician, for example replacing socket fronts, light switches and ceiling roses. In these cases one of our regular Handyman technicians would be able to carry out the work.

Q.

How do you know that the technicians  you employ are competent and trustworthy?

We only use technicians who are employed directly by Everest Handyman to carry out your work. This means you can rely on the same high quality and dedication to great service which has become synonymous with the Everest brand.

The only occasions when we would not use our own employees would be if the work required a Gas Safe qualified engineer or NICEIC accredited electrician in which case we would use one of our affiliated companies. We have a stringent 3 stage interview process which also involves a prospective technician passing a skills test set by us, so only the most qualified technicians make the grade. In most cases our technicians are also CRB checked, and they always hold a minimum List 99 status
