Creating the right design in fitted kitchens is imperative

Creating the right look and layout in fitted kitchen designs is imperative, according to one expert.

Award-winning chef and restaurateur Michel Roux Jr stated that cooking areas should be designated into three sections.

The expert said that there should be a food preparation place, where the refrigerator should be next to the worktop, then the cooking area where all the appliances should meet.

Last but not least is the cleaning section, which includes the sink, dishwasher and draining board.

He added that having this type of system can make fitted kitchens be a great place to produce some wonderful food.

Mr Roux Jr told the Independent: "The kitchen is very much the hub of the home so choose the design and layout that makes you feel comfortable in your surroundings.

"Add personal touches such as large windows and doors to let the light in, plants, personal pictures and photographs," he added.
