owners have been told they can transform their home into a space that incorporates style and luxury into its design.
This is according to architect Felix von Bechtolsheim, who believes that it is possible for anyone to create the perfect property scheme for them and their family.
He added that having an open-plan feel can work well in dwellings, which can also give the feeling of calmness and relaxation, and that people should not be worried to spend a little on making their dream design.
Mr von Bechtolsheim, told the Independent: "At one point development was all about creating little boxes.
"There are shed loads of that kind of thing on the market, but I think quality is making a bit of a comeback and you can make more money on a good two-bedroom flat than a poky three-bedroom one."
Recently, the National Home Improvement Council told fitted kitchen owners that many people want to make alterations to their abodes but finances could be holding them back in 2011.
