Peterborough mum wins £10,000 conservatory
20 November 2008
A mother-of-four from Peterborough was delighted after it was confirmed that she had won a new conservatory worth £10,000, the Evening Telegraph reported yesterday (November 19th).Jane Schofield entered a competition for readers of the newspaper and reportedly literally jumped for joy when she was informed that her name had been selected from a total of around 500 entries.
Frank Saunders, director of marketing at EYG, the company supplying the prize, explained that conservatories offer a number of benefits in the current turbulent economic situation.
He told the Evening Telegraph: "We wanted to emphasise to readers that in these difficult economic times, it is wise to consider adding a conservatory to a house rather than a bricks and mortar extension, which is generally much more costly.
"Today's conservatories, with their quality build standards, temperature controls and eco-glass, provide a cost-effective alternative to increasing the family's habitable space."
Mr Saunders added that he was sure that Ms Schofield and her children - Daniel (14), Matthew (12), Rebecca (ten) and Thomas (eight) - would make the most of their prize.
The Peterborough Evening Telegraph began in 1948 as a localised edition of the Northamptonshire Evening Telegraph and featured four change pages.
