With a teaser of spring streaming through our windows, we’re getting more hopeful that the winter weather will soon be left trailing behind us. During the winter conservatories can often become a dumping ground for bits and bobs, but with the first signs of sunshine appearing, how can you make the most of the conservatory this spring?
Spruce up with a spring clean
First and foremost, giving the conservatory a clear out is the perfect way to start visualising what else you could do with the space. Luckily this can usually be done in one sitting and this alone will instantly make the conservatory become a space you want to spend more time in.
Blue sky breakfast
With light pouring in through the doors and windows, there’s no better way to enjoy a morning meal. So whilst al fresco dining is a far cry away, your conservatory is the next best thing.Place a table in a corner of the room that can easily be pulled out to enjoy breakfast under the blue sky.
Upgrade the home office
Working from home can often leave you feeling desperate to go outside, so why not get the best of both worlds? Cosying up in the warmth at home with light flooding through the windows will allow enough natural light to work, whilst enjoying little distractions of nature on the doorstep.
Embrace your hobbies
Whether a devout reader, avid knitter, skilled carpenter, model-building enthusiast or a peaceful bird watcher, utilise the haven offered by the conservatory. The extra light will lift moods and the natural scenery will enhance productivity.
Modern life is often so busy that we forget to take a little time for ourselves. In order to de-stress, enjoy some alone-time or simply take stock of life and future goals, take yourself away from the business of the house and take a few deep breaths when sitting in the conservatory. It is often the most tranquil of environments.
Whilst spring brings moments of sunshine, the weather is still likely to be cold, and especially with our temperamental climate, it’s important to ensure the conservatory is a cosy space to enjoy – placing a rug on the floor is a simple trick that will make all the difference.
