When opening and closing your window is so common and essential for the comfort of you and your home. When it is no longer easy as your window has become stiff and it is now hard to open this can be quite stressful. Luckily there is an extremely easy way to fix this with only a common manual screwdriver. Just take a look at our video below or alternatively read through our brilliant and simple step by step.
Follow the simple steps below to loosen your top hung window.
First, you will need to open up your window till you can see and access your windows hinges
Then you will need to locate your friction screw on your hinge
Once located with your screwdriver loosen the friction hinge very slightly make sure to the same amount of adjustment on the opposite hinge it doesn’t have to be exact
Begin to test the adjustment by pushing the window out and in
Depending on your preferred outcome keep loosening and tightening until it’s easier to open.
** If the window becomes too loose DO NOT worry, just twist the friction screw the opposite way and it will tighten back up again
