Everest sponsor community football club Baglan FC

Baglan football club
Everest is the new sponsor of Baglan FC – a football club that has been intrinsically linked to the company since it was formed in 2006.

The locally formed club based in the Treherbert area of the Rhondda Valley, South Wales has been a vital link to the community in its brief history.

Originally formed under the name of the Royal Oak, a public house just a short distance away from the ‘Baglan Field’ where they play their home games, they changed their name to Baglan FC just a year later.

Over the years the club has had many players and managers who have worked at Everest and become part of the club.

We are delighted to be sponsoring Baglan FC this season and with our links to the club and the community, we feel it’s only fitting. It is a proper community football club and has played a vital part in keeping the people of Treherbert together.

We know how challenging it has been for local sports clubs to find sponsorship since the pandemic so we are pleased we can help Baglan FC and wish them every success for the season.Anthony Threlfall, Head of Marketing

The club, which redesigned its badge in 2014 to pay homage to the Ynysfeio coal mining community and is also currently renovating its Baglan field home ground, will play in Everest branded shirts.

Everest has provided employment for a significant percentage of the Treherbert and surrounding communities for decades, so it is great to link-up with a company which holds such a rich local history. We’re looking forward to the ongoing partnership with them. Jason Thomas, Chairman of the Baglan Football Club

At the time of writing, the club currently sit top of the Carol Hoskings Rhondda & District Football League having started the season with two wins from two and play their first-round match in the South Wales Senior Trophy on September 10 against Ynysbwl.
