Why choose a stable door?

If you're looking for an external door for a traditional property, stable doors are an excellent choice. Stable doors were traditionally seen on cottages or rural period properties, however, they are now an increasingly popular solution for replacing old doors as they are extremely versatile. They can be opened in two ways, both parts opening together like a standard door, or the top half of a door opened whilst the lower half remains closed. This makes stable doors an ideal choice for families, as the door that can let fresh air into your home, whilst keeping small children and pets indoors. Our stable composite doors are available with two solid half door panels or with the top panel glazed, in a choice of stunning colour and multipoint locking fitted as standard.

How does a composite stable door operate?
All our stable doors are operated by a handle on the top section of the door which operates the locking system. The bottom section has no handle and can not be operated independently of the top section. So you can either open both doors together, or just open the top half.
