You should expect uPVC windows to last a minimum of 20 years, but with maintenance and varying factors, some windows can have a much longer life than expected. The quality of window frame products varies dramatically between manufacturers and installers. Cheap uPVC will warp and discolour long before a quality uPVC frame would. Can shutters be fitted to uPVC windows?
Shutters can be fitted to uPVC windows in the same way as that for timber frames as these are normally fitted to the internal fabric of the building rather than directly to the window frames. We'd advise a specialist company to ensure that correct clearances from handles and to hinges to enable easy opening of the windows for ventilation.
