High-Performing, Elegant French Doors

Everest French doors are a great way to create an easy transition to the garden. Opening outwards they enable you to fully utilise the space indoors whilst enabling maximum light and ventilation. They offer great versatility with the ability to lock one leaf closed or to open up both doors by securing them with cabin hooks to avoid them swinging shut in the wind.

Everest French doors are available in a choice of materials, designs and colours to complement your home. Like all of our bespoke doors, we offer a range of attractive door furniture options and decorative glazing to achieve your dream French door appearance including our expanded range of door furniture with premium anti-corrosion designs, proven to withstand the harshest conditions.

French doors are crafted for durability and safety, incorporating steel-reinforced frames and panels and boast locks that comply with the highest security standards. Our uPVC French doors are naturally insulating, offering high levels of energy efficiency and in combination with our Triple Glazing, they can achieve our lowest-ever U-value.

Commonly Asked Questions

Do you need planning permission for French doors?

You do not need planning permission to install French doors, as they are covered under permitted development rights. However, it is always advisable to check with your local authority if you are unsure, if you live in a listed building or in a conservation area.

Do I need a lintel for French doors?

All window and door openings will have a lintel fitted above as the window or door frame will not be structural supporting.

Can French doors open both in and out?

It is possible to enable double French doors to open into a room by reversing the hinges. However, invariably this is less practical as the doors will require space to open into the room and may limit the options for the positioning of furniture.

What colours are French doors available in?

Everest offers an extensive range of colours and finishes for our French doors dependent on the material you select. We have selected these to enable customers to be able to match their new doors to their window designs.

Are French doors secure?

French doors are just as secure as normal front doors as we use the same multi-point locking mechanisms as for our front doors. The glass used is toughened safety glass and so won’t shatter if someone tries to smash it, which is incredibly difficult to do.
