The new Everest Garden Room is now open
On Monday 9 April, TV gardener David Domoney officially opened the beautiful new Garden Room at Denman. Situated on the lawn near the lake, this incredible donation from the home improvement company Everest has marked the college’s 70th birthday celebrations.
The attractive and versatile Garden Room is made from extra thick, sustainably-produced timber. Fully insulated and complete with Everest’s energy efficient windows and doors, it will provide a useable and comfortable space for Denman’s visitors to enjoy all year round.
We’re thrilled to have the wonderful Everest Garden Room in the Denman grounds for all our visitors to enjoy. Some lucky students will be utilising the bright space for their courses in the coming months, but it's also a wonderful addition for all to delight in. Our writing workshops will take full advantage of being able to have private one to one sessions when discussing their work and knitting reunion’s will love the natural light when they come and have their weekends together.
It will be open all year round for visitors to enjoy, providing a space for them to have lunch, meditate, or have a chat with a new friend. As with all the rooms at Denman, it will also be available for hire to the general public for meetings, parties and other gatherings. We’re most looking forward to hosting some delicious afternoon tea events in and around the Garden Room. The location being near the herb garden and a stone’s throw from the lake means that it’s a lovely spot for guests to have a birthday, business team away day or pre-dinner drinks reception.
This generous donation has made a big difference to Denman not only by increasing its room capacity and availability for student courses, but also by enhancing the landscape of the 17 acres of land that Denman owns.
