Customer Case Study

Products: Flush Casement Windows, Casement Windows, uPVC doors, French Doors

In this case study we visited a family in the Warwickshire countryside to find out how triple glazing transformed their home from being cold and draughty to warm, secure and inviting.

The Project

Mrs D and her family recently moved into their beautiful Warwickshire farmhouse-style home. the property was lovely, but the old timber windows were in a state of disrepair letting in draughts and with no locks or structural strength making them a potential entry point.  Security was a big concern for the young family in their new rural location.

Moreover, a key buying point of their new home was the lovely original timber front door, but this was letting in the cold and draughts in the winter. They knew as soon as they moved in they required a full replacement of all their windows and doors and started looking rapidly for a solution to improve the insulation and security of their wonderful new home.

The Design Consultation

Mrs D was really pleased with the recommendations made by Everest to address the challenges the family were experiencing “Everest were promoting Triple Glazing as Standard and said that if insulation was important , Triple Glazing was going to keep far more heat inside my home.” To solve the security concerns, the advantages of security laminate glazing was explained.  Finally it was agreed that rather than replacing the original door,  a new Upvc door could be fitted to the external of the porch so the original could be retained.

Having taken care of the critical needs, “Everest then recommended that a great opportunity to modernise was to go with a light grey instead of white to complement the home and to remove the lead on the glazing to let far more light into my home – I’m really pleased with the result”.

The Survey

The survey was undertaken promptly and efficiently and all measurements for the windows and doors were double-checked along with health and safety concerns addressed ahead of the installation. Everest paid special attention to the rear of the property, where building work had to be undertaken to change an old single door into a new French door to open up the downstairs of the property.

The Installation Process

Due to the scale of the project installation took 2 weeks with a dedicated team of installers, including a specialised building team to work on the rear bay to widen the door. The family were very pleased with the care and attention taken by the fitting team to ensure a really great finish to the windows and doors, as well as keeping the inside of the property clean and tidy as they worked.
