This Morning Live

This Morning Live 2017

The new consumer lifestyle show was a live event experience bringing ITV’s popular This Morning programme to life. TV favourites Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby were joined by a host of popular celebrities throughout the four day show, which attracted over 50,000 visitors. As well as being the headline partner for the event, we were also the official partner for the Home, Garden & Pets stage. This was one of four themed areas at the show, where we were joined by celebrities from This Morning who hosted daily seminars giving hints and tips on security in the home.

This Morning Live

Bring your dad to work day

Holly Willoughby got a nice surprise at This Morning Live when she was joined by her dad Brian, who's been an Everest sales consultant for over 35 years and knows everything there is to know about our products security features. He put this knowledge to good use at the show and joined This Morning’s Alison Hammond and Emma Kenny on the Home, Garden and Pets stage to discuss his top security secrets.

Wellbeing in the home

At the show we explained how our advanced product design can enhance a customer’s sense of wellbeing in their home. Most importantly we discussed how feeling secure in our homes is one of the most important factors, but independent research has shown that many of us are gambling with our security by not locking our windows and doors. TV psychologist Emma Kenny explains why feeling safe in our homes is such an important factor in our overall feeling of wellbeing: “The quote ‘home is where the heart is’ reflects the emotional connection that we feel when we think about the safe haven it provides, so it unsurprising that being burgled or feeling cold were considered the two top threats to wellbeing in our homes”. A Very British Hygge

A very British Hygge

At Everest we take the concept of how our products can enhance a customer’s wellbeing to heart in everything we do. In Denmark they call it Hygge - an approach to life where you take great pleasure in the micro experiences of life such as being comfortable, being with others and feeling a sense of warmth and security. Being British and manufacturing in the UK for over 50 years we wanted to give our own take on this Danish concept and have worked with author Simon Sinclair to publish a book called a Very British Hygge. We were offering copies of the book at the show and it will go on sale later this year. Although you can pre-register for a copy now if you email 10 lucky respondents will receive a free signed copy of the first print run.

Get inspired

You might think the British are far too reserved to follow Hygge but you’d be surprised. Think of a cream tea in summer with friends, or a cosy fire side chat in the pub - both take pleasure from the simple life enhancing moments that bring true pleasure. Why not have a look at our Pinterest Board to get further British home Hygge inspiration.

The perfect fit...

"This Morning Live is an exciting new consumer show and a natural fit for Everest, as our homes are such an integral part of our lifestyles. The fundamental importance of feeling warm and safe in our homes is essential to our overall feeling of wellbeing, and only when we feel comfortable and secure can we really make the most of our homes and the world around us."

"The Danish have a wonderful word called ‘hygge’, which has become a very popular concept here in the UK over the past year or so. The driving forces behind hygge are cosiness and contentment, but you cannot feel cosy or content if your home is not warm and safe. We’ll be giving lots of tips to visitors at the show to help them improve their ‘home hygge’ and will also be unveiling an exclusive new addition to our windows that will take home security to a new level."

As a lifestyle event we want to help inspire our visitors with exciting products and big trends such as ‘home hygge’ helping to improve the feeling of contentment and happiness."
