In this case study we were kindly invited to visit the Spragg family in Stotfold, Hertfordshire, to see their beautifully decorated uPVC conservatory, installed with under floor heating to make it extremely cosy and usable, especially in the colder months. The family's love for their new conservatory was obvious and they confirmed that the room was in constant use by everyone. We were originally thinking about completing the conservatory as a self-build project but after seeing Everest’s Sales Consultant and hearing how the project management team would take care of everything – we changed our minds and decided to go with the professionals. We weren’t disappointed. The project management was spot on, with great communication and a good plan which they stuck to religiously with no delays throughout the build.

Reasons for the Installation

The Spragg family purchased their house from new just over 2 years ago. They decided to add an extra room by way of a conservatory when they found they were expecting their second child.

Initial Consultation

The Spraggs booked appointments with both Everest and a leading competitor and after seeing both, settled with Everest, taking advantage of our Price Rewind offer and making savings of over £12,000. A contributing factor in choosing Everest was the fact that our sales consultant understood their needs better, listened intently to their wish list and didn’t try to persuade them to change their design. He also advised them against adding bi-fold doors due to the expensive small bespoke size that would be required (a decision they are very happy with). Finally, they were highly impressed by the 3D design software they were shown of the final build, not to mention the product and finance knowledge imparted by the sales consultant.

The Survey

As their house was a new property, the house builder had removed the permitted development rights to build a conservatory without applying for planning permission. Our efficient Everest surveyor, offered the full ‘turn key’ service including obtaining planning on their behalf and this process, according to the customer, was extremely quick and painless and meant their vision was underway.

The Installation Team

Once the planning was through, the build began in January 2017 during an extremely cold spell and the family felt sorry for the team due to the extreme conditions. Richard Spragg was keen to confirm that all members of the team were very considerate, keeping the site clean and tidy at all times and he was particularly impressed that they went to great lengths to protect the lawn from damage whilst working. All of the contractors were complimentary about Everest as a whole and their project manager was constantly on the telephone making sure things were running smoothly. The whole build went without a hitch and much better than the family had dared hope, with them barely knowing the contractors were there at times.

There were a few snagging issues, which was only to be expected but the after sales team were definitely qualified to give the advice they gave us and the problems were dealt with efficiently and within a very short period of time.
